Seville is not just any city. Nor is La Maestranza just any bullring. Both premises should be decisive, and indeed they are, for attending the April Fair every year. However, the 2024 season ticket has a handful of incentives to help the most undecided make up their minds. Here they are:

Andrés Roca Rey
Roca Rey with “victorinos”. The Peruvian star is one of the highlights of the Seville season. Four afternoons between Resurrection, April, and San Miguel, but above all, one date stands out: Saturday, April 13. His first encounter with Victorino’s bulls will be at La Maestranza. And with two “specialists” like Escribano or Borja Jiménez, who are also from the land. It promises to be something special.

Daniel Luque
Luque with La Quinta’s bulls. He’s another pillar of the season ticket, and far from hiding, he’s decided to face one of the most important bull-breeding farms in his career. Last year, he triumphed in the debut of the “santacolomas” in the series, and this year he repeats accompanied by two other bullfighters who know well how to succeed with this lineage: El Cid and Emilio de Justo. The date is the “Thursday of lanterns” (April 18).

José Antonio Morante de la Puebla
Morante. Just like that. Five afternoons in 2024. More than anyone else. Because Seville belongs to him more than anyone else. Mark the dates: March 31 (Resurrection, with Castella and Roca Rey and bulls from Matilla), April 11 (Thursday before the fair, with Manzanares and Aguado and bulls from Juan Pedro), April 15 (Monday of lanterns, alongside Daniel Luque and Juan Ortega, facing bulls from Domingo Hernández), April 19 (Friday of lanterns, together with Castella and Rufo, to deal with bulls from Alcurrucén), and September 29, in San Miguel, with bulls from Matilla, alongside Juan Ortega and Hermoso, who says goodbye to El Baratillo.

Juan Ortega
Juan Ortega wants to conquer La Maestranza; Aguado, to reconquer it. They are two bullfighters whom Seville views with pleasure and approval. They empathize with them for their interpretation. Both are placed on prestigious dates and posters. And the fans are waiting for them.
Borja Jiménez
Borja Jiménez is not bluffing. His afternoon in Madrid, at the end of last season, was one of the highlights of the past year. The one from Espartinas was on everyone’s lips. His inclusion in the season ticket is for someone who has earned a place at the table of the chosen ones. It smells like a challenge and it smells like a bet. He won’t disappoint.

José María Manzanares, Castella, Talavante
The “old guard”. Manzanares, Castella, Talavante, Perera… they all know what it means to succeed in La Maestranza. They have all fulfilled, or are about to fulfill, 20 years since their alternative, but none of them has yet said their last word. In the April Fair, a cycle that marks the course of the season’s contracts, they will once again assert themselves. Their experience speaks for itself.
The rest. What remains is not leftovers. What’s left is Emilio de Justo, Paco Ureña, and Urdiales (all three know what it means to cut two ears off a bull in Seville). Also El Cid and Rufo (four and two gates of El Príncipe, respectively, attest to both of them), and Manuel Escribano (another year with “Miuras” and “Victorinos”). The trio of Sevillians (Lama, Ruiz Muñoz, and Calerito) and another trio of youngsters (Garrido, David de Miranda, and the Mexican Valadez) complete, along with the inclusion of El Fandi and the novelty of Esaú with the Miura bulls, an irresistible offer. Now, it’s up to you, aficionado. Choose and don’t miss out.
