Carlos Tirado conquers the final and wins the Andalusia Circuit

The Huelva-born novillero delivered the strongest performance of the competition, claiming victory after cutting two ears in an emotional and committed final.

The final of the Andalusia Novilladas Circuit, promoted by the Fundación Toro de Lidia in collaboration with the Regional Government of Andalusia, crowned Carlos Tirado as overall winner after an afternoon defined by determination and ambition. The young bullfighter from Huelva was the only contestant to claim trophies from both of his bulls, imposing his style against a demanding José Luis Pereda entry.

The event opened with Cid de María, who showed variety with the cape against his first opponent. He found a noble rhythm during the opening muleta series, shaping the bull’s charge with composure, although the performance faded as the animal lost strength. The sword once again denied him a reward and the result was silence after a warning. The fourth offered little opportunity either, proving awkward and reluctant to leave the boards, which limited any real success despite the matador’s willingness.

Martín Morilla produced moments of elegance and expression. His first bull conditioned the start after an early knockdown, yet the Seville-born novillero settled especially well on the left-hand side, where the most harmonious passages emerged. A lack of precision with the sword and a frightening goring during the second attempt cooled the atmosphere. His best work came with the fifth, combining expressive verónicas, a well-measured sequence of passes and a faena that grew in intensity with the most complete bull of the afternoon. The crowd’s petition fell short after he needed the descabello, and he was awarded a lap of honour.

Carlos Tirado built his triumph on sheer resolve. With the third he had little chance to shine with the cape and faced a tense moment when a member of his cuadrilla was caught during the banderillas. Once the muleta came into play, the Andalusian proved far superior to a distracted opponent, extracting every possible pass and earning one ear after a slightly crossed sword thrust.

The sixth ultimately decided the final. Tirado ignited the crowd with a striking gaonera sequence before launching into a vibrant and well-linked faena that reached its highest level on the natural. Music accompanied a performance that gathered momentum and concluded with another ear, alongside a strong but unsuccessful request for the second. That tally secured him the title, officially awarded at the end of the event.
