A Grand Festival in Seville to Honour the Vázquez Dynasty
On 13 October, the Real Maestranza of Seville will bring its 2025 season to a close with a top-class bullfighting festival that combines art, history and solidarity. The line-up features celebrated matadors such as José María Manzanares, Alejandro Talavante, Juan Ortega and Pablo Aguado, joined by Manolo Vázquez, the recently confirmed matador Javier Zulueta, and the young novillero Manuel Domínguez. They will face bulls from Puerto de San Lorenzo, Domingo Hernández, Talavante, Espartaco and El Parralejo. The event will also pay tribute to the illustrious Vázquez dynasty, one of the great legacies of the San Bernardo district, whose names remain engraved in golden letters in the history of bullfighting in Seville.

Seville Fair 2025: Tradition, Elegance, and Festivity from 5th to 11th May
The Seville Fair, held from 5th to 11th May 2025, is Andalucía’s most iconic event and a key economic driver for the region. Its origins date back to the 19th century when it began as an agricultural and livestock fair, evolving over time into a vibrant celebration filled with food stalls, kiosks, and entertainment. Today, it symbolises joy, culture, and tradition.
The festivities kick off with the magical "alumbrao", the illumination of thousands of lights adorning the grand entrance to the fairground in the Los Remedios district. The site hosts over a thousand "casetas" (marquees) decorated with colourful lanterns, flowers, and sandy albero flooring. Streets named after legendary bullfighters come alive with music, dance, and laughter. While some casetas are open to the public, most are private and require an invitation, offering an exclusive atmosphere where you can savour traditional dishes like "pescaíto frito" (fried fish), sip a refreshing rebujito, or indulge in churros with chocolate. Live music fills the air as guests dance sevillanas, flamenco, and rumbas late into the night.
Elegance is at the heart of the fair. Women don exquisite flamenco dresses, while men sport traditional short suits or formal attire with jackets and ties.
