Do you know how many bullfighters who perform at the April Fair have exited through the Prince’s Gate?

This coming Sunday marks the start of a new edition of the April Fair in Seville, one of the most decisive season tickets of the season and, surely, the most elitist of all those celebrated in the calendar. Those in the know say that a Big Door in Madrid gets you going, but what really gives cachet to a bullfighter is opening the Prince’s Gate.
At this fair, there are several bullfighters who know what it is to cross this coveted threshold in triumph. Servitoro has wanted to name them all and make a ranking so that, if you hadn’t realized yet, you become aware of the caliber of this fair. And what you’re going to miss if you stay at home.
1.- Manuel Jesús El Cid. He has exited four times through the Prince’s Gate. (2005 -2 afternoons- 2006 and 2007). He is announced on April 18 to fight alongside Daniel Luque and Emilio de Justo bulls from La Quinta.

2.- José María Manzanares. He has exited three times through the Prince’s Gate. (2011 and 2012 -2 afternoons). He is announced two afternoons, on April 11 and 17.

3.- Morante de la Puebla. He has exited twice through the Prince’s Gate. (1999 and 2023). He was the last matador to cut a tail in this square. He is announced three afternoons, on April 11, 15, and 19.

4.- Tomás Rufo. He has exited twice through the Prince’s Gate. (2022 and 2023). He is announced two afternoons, on April 17 and 19.

5.- Roca Rey. He has exited once through the Prince’s Gate. (2023). He is announced two afternoons, on April 13 and 20.

6.- Sebastián Castella. He has exited once through the Prince’s Gate. (2023). He is announced on April 19 to fight Alcurrucén bulls alongside Morante and Tomás Rufo.

7.- Daniel Luque. He has exited once through the Prince’s Gate. (2022). He is announced three afternoons, on April 12, 15, and 18.

8.- Pablo Aguado. He has exited once through the Prince’s Gate. (2019). He is announced two afternoons, on April 11 and 20.

9.- Alejandro Talavante. He has exited once through the Prince’s Gate. (2007). He is announced two afternoons, on April 12 and 17.

*Also, the rejoneadores Diego Ventura (ten times) and Guillermo Hermoso de Mendoza (three), who perform together on Sunday, April 14, have exited through the Prince’s Gate. Similarly, Borja Jiménez (announced on April 10 and 13) and José Garrido (who bullfights on Tuesday 9), went out on shoulders as novilleros in 2014 and Lama de Góngora (who opens the fair on Sunday 7) did the same as a novillero without horses in the 2012 season.
